Clinical Background and Experience

Michele Lulewicz is a master’s level clinician and licensed as a marriage and family therapist in the state of PA. She comes with extensive experience in a range of mental health settings, including schools, communities, homes, and outpatient offices in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs.

Michele has held front line of care positions as a therapeutic staff support worker, a case manager, and a lead clinician for community behavioral health wrap-around programming, as well as family-based services for the bulk of her career. The heart of her work is centered around supporting families, children/adolescents and couples encountering life/relational stressors, a variety of mental health concerns, and phase of life transitions.

As a psychotherapist in outpatient practice, Michele has focused on treating individuals facing personal obstacles related to anxiety/anxiety related disorders, depression/mood disorders, trauma/PTSD, grief/loss, neurodevelopmental challenges (ADHD/ASD) and the impact of chronic/terminal illnesses. Michele creates space for safe self-exploration/discovery, challenging movement past comfort zones, and healing of emotional wounds and unmet needs through an integration of evidence-based approaches.

Through experience working with Philadelphia police officers and their families, Michele also offers a unique and specific clinical perspective helping families/individuals who are first responders and those exposed to the intense occupational demands and stress within their work.

Therapeutic Approach

Michele holds the therapeutic relationship in highest regard and fosters collaboration, lightheartedness and open communication from the moment treatment begins. The foundation of her approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and honoring the dignity and individuality of every client. Treatment is client driven, and goals are shaped to specific client needs to promote healthy long-term change. She relies largely on humanistic and attachment focused care, as well as integrating psychodynamic, narrative and skills-based interventions. Michele finds cultural awareness paramount to therapy and celebrates all walks of life, backgrounds, and cultures. Identifying and fortifying strengths are a key component to therapeutic work, which cultivates a strong sense of hope, empowerment and courage to grow without limits.
