Dr. McLaren is a licensed and certified school psychologist, with particular expertise in the evaluation of autism spectrum disorders (ASDs), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other mental health issues in children (starting at 18 months of age), teens, and young adults.

Specialized Training and Experience
Dr. Jennifer McLaren is a PA-licensed psychologist, a PA-certified school psychologist, and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She attended the University of Scranton, where she received a bachelor’s in psychology with a minor in human development. Dr. McLaren then graduated with a master’s degree and a doctoral degree in school psychology from Alfred University. Additionally, Dr. McLaren has received advanced training in school neuropsychology.
Dr. McLaren has worked in several settings, including public schools, approved private schools, BHRS/IBHS programs, private practices, outpatient clinics, and residential placements. She has served in a variety of roles, including Director of Evaluation at the Center for Autism.
Dr. McLaren has experience working with a wide variety of clients diagnosed with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, giftedness, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, OCD, anxiety, family adjustment issues, pediatric psychosis, and emotional/behavioral problems. She is trained in play therapy, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and animal-assisted therapy. Dr. McLaren takes a strength-based approach to her work in order to help build resiliency in her clients. Her goal is to provide meaningful and comprehensive evaluations so that clients can understand themselves and how to manage their symptoms. She has extensive experience in assessment, therapy, service navigation and program administration.
